May Day Rally
The May day is International workers’ day every May 1st. Then people stand up for various rights of workers. In Oregon, the event is a day when people march and rally for immigrant rights and it takes place at Salem State capital of Oregon on May 1st. The purpose this year was driver’s license access, tuition equity and quality education, Safe communities and Health equity are important because immigrants receive unfair treatment. Many people gathered at capital from all of Oregon. They were raising their voices for justice during the march. They said yes we can in Spanish, tell me what justice looks like and sang a song. Many communities became one. It’s important to change the future.

History of The Bistro
The Bistro is in the UC 1st floor at Willamette University. It was started by Eric Fishman and John Donovan in 1985. The reason why was they thought there was nowhere to enjoy talking with friends in the evening. They gave their idea and started to make their project. In the fall of 1986, the Bistro opened. The shop ran only student staff. Ten years later, it was remodeled and bigger than before, and students couldn’t almost imagine a Willamette without the Bistro. Today, many students always hang out in the Bistro. Eric and John keep giving them a place of rest and relaxation.
