History of The Bistro

The Bistro is in the UC 1st floor at Willamette University. It was started by Eric Fishman and John Donovan in 1985. The reason why was they thought there was nowhere to enjoy talking with friends in the evening. They gave their idea and started to make their project. In the fall of 1986, the Bistro opened. The shop ran only student staff. Ten years later, it was remodeled and bigger than before, and students couldn’t almost imagine a Willamette without the Bistro. Today, many students always hang out in the Bistro. Eric and John keep giving them a place of rest and relaxation.

Rite Aid

Rite Aid is near Salem center. It takes about 15 minutes from Willamette University. There are many cosmetics such as REVLON, MAYBELLINE and LOREAL PARIS, foods, message cords, electric appliances and necessities of life available there. They carry everything for college life. The store is like a small Fred Meyer. Willamette students don’t need to ride a car because they can walk to the shop when they want to buy something that Safeway doesn’t sell. And also, they can develop pictures. Most articles are cheap. Rite Aid is convenient for people of life.

LU'AU

A Lu’au took place at Willamette University on April 16th. The event was to introduce Hawaiian culture. Many people came to the event. There were a lot of Hawaiian decorations which were made of leaves and flowers and goods. It was so cute and made them look like it was Hawaii. The food was good and the show was awesome. Everyone was fascinated deeply by the show which had the hula, samoan slap dance and fire dance. The hips of the hula members moved to form a circle. It was unbelievable and amazing. The Samoan slap dance was funny and very compelling. The fire dance was dangerous and exciting. But they could perform successfully without injury. Many people enjoyed a Lu’au because everything was fantastic.
